Perhaps you need another human to breathe with you until the storm passes. Maybe you’re kind of OK, but feel stuck in some ways, unable to enjoy and express fully. It could also be that there’s a box in the deep corner of the basement - one that needs opening - and you feel it’s time.
I am here, let's get in touch.
I know, from my own experience, how uncomfortable it can be to say it out loud, to be seen in your blind spot, to need support. But I also know how powerful it can be to reach out and receive that support. I wish you do.
As a gestalt therapist, I will invite you to step out of the hamster wheel of thoughts and notice what is actually happening right now. Your tone of voice is as telling as your words. Your body might be offering an alternative version of the story. A pause - and a brief thought that you quickly brushed away - can be just as important as what you are eager to tell me.
I will be there with you, mind and body, listening, sensing and being affected by what you share. For an hour, my awareness is a tool to help you notice, express, explore and make meaning of your experiences. More awareness in the present moment can create ripples of more awareness in life - that's at the core of the gestalt therapy method.
Being witnessed so closely by another human can be intense. Uncomfortable. Acknowledging and feeling what you're feeling can be frightening. It might take time until it feels safe enough for some parts of you to show themselves. Especially the "illegal" ones, the deeply hurt ones. That is why psychotherapy tends to be a longer, continuous process. Working together means building a relationship. While firmly professional, it can also be deeply human and personal.
According to the paradoxical theory of change, when we acknowledge and allow ourselves to be as we are - fully and freely, including everything we'd rather not be - change can happen effortlessly. This means that in gestalt therapy sessions, instead of "fixing" and "pushing", I will invite you to explore things as they are, with self-compassion and curiosity.
THE gestalt method
My background is a four year education at the Norwegian Gestalt Institute (2022-2026). I've been offering therapy sessions since late 2024, first as my student practice, and recently as a certified professional. I keep myself well supported to support you. I do it through regular supervision, peer consultations and continuous education. My practice is guided by code of ethics of the European Association for Gestalt Therapy. I take confidentiality seriously.
I've undergone training and have volunteering experience in an emotional support phone line, with focus on suicide prevention (Jaunimo Linija, Lithuania).
When we meet in a therapy room, I am influenced by and draw from my personal processes and life experience. On a more personal note, you can read more about me on the about page.
